04/01/2008: "Sunday Edition"
Hi All,
For any interested, I did an interview today with Michael Enright of CBC's Sunday Edition. If no other noteworthy news happens between now and next Sunday, the 6th, I've been told it can be heard from 9:00-10:00 am. If not, I've been bumped. So, if you're not sick of hearing about the Esquire article, or haven't read it, or want to hear me fillibustering on the radio, well, CBC Sunday Edition is the place to tune your shortwave set this weekened. Possibly.
A few other things that I should've mentioned earlier. I underwent an agent change. These past months have been a bit odd, which is not terribly strange considering I, myself, am an odd human being. I am now represented by Vanessa Matthews at the Anne McDermid Agency. She's very cool, and I was introduced to her through my new film agent, Jerry Kalajian. I bear no ill will at all towards my previous agent; she was great, she did many wonderful things. I think we had a pretty good relationship, though I'm not sure she'd agree---I would like to hope so. Unfortunately I am at a crossroads of sorts, which is the same crossroads many writers find themselves at after their initial contract has been fulfilled. It's not a fantastic place to be, to a certain extent, but for a lot of us, it is a place you must pass through. You don't always pass through in the same company you set out with. This is an unfortunate, though perhaps unavoidable, part of the job.
What else? Am I writing, still? You bet your ass. I'm jobless, right now, so I'd better be. But I'm taking my time, really working hard on editing and tightening what I'm working on---which has always been one of my achilles heels. I'm about 4-5 months away from finishing my current project. Barring unforeseen circumstances. Let's hope there are none of those.
Look for a new installment of my FOOD NETWORK HOSTS ratings. I've been watching lots of food network and I have a few bones to pick! A few brickbats! But some kind words, too.
All best, Craig.
